A Community Beyond the Book

When Beneath the Surface launches, it will also become home to a free online art gallery and community created for people who have lived through adversity.

The gallery will feature artwork from survivors of childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, adverse childhood experiences, and other forms of trauma and adversity — creating a space for people to express what can be difficult to put into words and to know that their stories matter.

The gallery is not live yet. It will officially open alongside the launch of Beneath the Surface. Until then, I’m beginning to collect artwork from people who may want to be part of it.

If you’d like to submit a piece, you can DM me on Instagram or Facebook with your artwork and anything you’d like me to know about it.

You do not need to be a professional artist. Your work can be a drawing, painting, photograph, collage, digital piece, poem presented visually, or another form of creative expression.

Submitting artwork does not mean it will be published immediately. The gallery and community will open when the book launches, and additional submission details will be shared before publication.
